The birds of Fort De Soto Park are at times almost tame; this Great Blue Heron let John come so close that he couldn't fit the bird's whole body into his camera frame! Although only December, this particular heron was in full breeding plumage, showing striking blue marks on his face and sporting a pair of long plumes. |
