bird photography : pied-billed grebe

During a business trip to Monterey, CA, John saw the distinctive silhouettes of Pied-billed Grebes all along the waters of Lake El Estereo near his hotel, and on one afternoon, went out and photographed this young grebe preening in the late day sun.
