"Provisional Ballot"
Written for an online horror magazine's "Election Horror" contest, the story tells in Twilight Zone fashion the tale of one man's reality-altering attempts to cast a provisional ballot in the historic 2008 U.S. Presidential elections (and stresses that not all candidates are the same).

Short fiction has never been my strength; beyond the simple fact that I tend toward verbose prose, the typical canvas for my imagination requires a broad brush to develop. It's a real challenge to create well-developed fiction set in or dependent upon the fantastic without resorting to archetypes bordering on the stereotypical. But as much as I enjoy well-done short fiction, it is an area I'm focusing upon now for my own writing.
