Through careful manipulation, an otherwise plain photograph takes on the look of a sketch or several styles of painting. His interest in artwork arose from John's desire to give hand-made, creative Christmas gifts to several friends and family members. Didi is John's Papillon and a natural inspiration for his artwork. Her distinctive butterfly ears and long, flowing coat make for very distinctive pieces of art.

John does custom artwork of other pets as well. Here are several pieces he has done on commission and as gifts, ranging from the popular Golden Retriever and Yellow Lab breeds to Dachshunds to adorable complete "mutt" mixes.
